Slough played what could be their last ever game at Holloways Park in front of a large crowd and finished their home campaign with a fine 2-0 victory over visitors Kings Lynn, in a game where neither side reached top gear. Slough started well and had the first chance when Hicks flicked a cross to the far post area, which was volleyed wide by a well placed Putman. Kings Lynn then got into the game when Sands forced a full length from Scott after getting his head to a free kick, then on 12 minutes Smith drilled a shot from the edge of the area that hit the post and the rebound was cleared down field. Barney then poked an effort wide of the goal after some good work from Gokmen, but Kings Lynn then had an audacious effort when Stevenson's back heel flick looped over the bar.
Kings Lynn had a great chance when Miller lobbed from the edge of the area, only to see Harris head off the line ,much to the dismay of the travelling fans. Slough took the lead on 31 minutes when the industrious Gokmen played a through ball finding BARNEY , who drilled through the legs of keeper Street from inside the 6 yard box 1-0. Slough then forced the next opening as Gokmen had time to tee up a volley from 25 yards out but it was blocked by an opposition defender. Kings Lynn finished the first half well and had two final chances, first Stevenson and then Sands both blasting over the bar HALF TIME 1-0.
Slough came out strong in the second half with Webb instrumental as he headed to Barney, only to see a tame effort easily saved before having an effort ruled out for offside. The game ebbed and flowed with both teams trading blows, Hurst powered a shot wide for Kings Lynn and Putman forced his way into the box before Street saved down low. Lynn's goalkeeper then showed why he's in goal as he miscontrolled a back pass that got tangled in his legs but managed to clear before Putman could close him down. Kings Lynn then stepped up their pace as Stevenson forced a good low save from Scott before Mulready won a free kick on the edge of the area but Stevenson saw his drilled effort rise over the bar.
Slough wrapped up the points and victory as good play from Putman ended with his cross from the byline being taped home acrobatically by BARNEY from a foot out 2-0. The final whistle blew shortly after and although not the greatest of games Slough will be happy with 3 points and a clean sheet.
