Many thanks to Keith for trying to keep the ship on course.
My initial reaction to this (shock?) piece of news is : Do we really want to re-create the website as it is, anyway?
Currently I have a bookmark that leads me to the latest forum posts (especially Upduck's jokes) but beyond that I rarely venture. So any effort beyond a simple forum is wasted effort for me.
However, I will never join Facebook (or Twitter) so a forum of some kind is important to me.
Perhaps we should consider what we need (and the size of the membership) before we rush into any unwieldy or costly solution.
David

Good Morning Thanks to Keith for organising this new Forum. Like albadross I won't be joining Facebook or Twitter so something like this is essential to me. Dennis

Thanks Keith.
Oddly enough I was looking at a 2007 vintage email from MYFC and this is what it said....
-----------------------------------------------------
"Thank you for registering with MyFootballClub and being among the first 40,000. Please continue to ask your friends to join, so we can reach 50,000 sooner and embark on the process of buying a football club"
--------------------------------------------------------
How times have changed!
I agree that revamping the old website on costly new servers seems unnecessary, but I'm not technical enough to know.
Good luck with the MYFC lite approach.
Cheers,

I remember the debate about if MyFC could continue in 2009 if the membership fell below 15,000
About 220 at present.

I appear to have registered successfully.
Thanks to Keith once again for his prompt action. Did we have/should we have had more notice than this?
For the current size of our membership (gulp) I don't think all the features from the old website need to be retained. In fact something much slimmer may help to get more focused involvement from members.
